We call this natural latex because it is a natural substance gathered by hand from trees grown by the earth. Chemicals are used in the processing of the latex, but those chemicals evaporate leaving the latex chemical free. Because the chemicals evaporate there is no off gassing of chemicals. The latex is covered with a knit organic cotton fabric, which is soft, stretchy and can be removed, or a fancy European cotton fabric cover, which has a Sateen feel to it and can't be removed . The added benefits for natural latex is that it is mold, mildew, and dust mite resistant. If you are concerned with electro magnetic fields this is the pillow for you! If you have latex allergies, the latex will be completely covered at all times; first with the organic cotton covering and then with your pillow case. |

There are two shredded latex pillows and two molded latex pillows. One has the European outer which is like a Sateen sheet material only thicker. The Knit outer is a soft stretchy material and that one comes off and can be washed. These natural latex pillows are all hand-made and can vary up to 1" in size and will compress 1/3" in volume with regular use. Maintenance: DO NOT WASH! Sun and air will make your pillow fresh.
